As we saw in the ACT Prep Black Book, the ACT Math section will try to confuse you by presenting a lot of simple concepts in very strange ways.

On this page, you’ll find a selection of several videos that will help you get more comfortable with the process of attacking difficult ACT Math questions. I recommend you watch all 3 of them.

These questions were all taken from a sample ACT practice test published by ACT, Inc. You can find a link to that test after the videos if you’d like to follow along that way.

Sample ACT Math Question Videos

This is a great example of a Math question that really comes down to reading comprehension skills and very simple math.

This question shows us how we can often solve ACT Math questions without really doing any calculations. In this case, we’re just reading carefully and applying knowledge of properties and definitions.

This question appears later in the section, which many people think means it must be harder than questions that appear earlier in the section. However, we can see that it’s still based on simple math.
